UP TO DATE NEWS: WHERE WE ARE RACING NEXT - NEW CAR BUILDS.....

Buxton 9th March
It was a cold windy day up at Buxton Raceway, Dean Unsworth made his debut in Buxton Rookirods. Dean went out in Heat 1, he looked nervous out in his first race, not quite on the pace but finished his first race without any incidents. Heat 2, Dean was starting to settle into the race and was picking up the pace nicely growing in confidence with ever lap. Usually the final is for points scorers only but it was decided that all remaining cars could go into the final so Dean took his place on the grid. The flag get down and the racing started. A full grid of over 25 cars were on track and this time Dean was in the thick of it you could see his confidence had really come on and he was racing round the track. The track was wet and greasy, not the easiest of racing conditions but he kept on the pace avoiding a couple of cars that collided. the race was brought under caution to clear a couple of stranded cars. The race started again with about 6 laps to go. Dean kept his racing line and his cool and at the chequered flag he had completed his first meeting, the lapscorer's did the results and Dean had come in 10th picking up his first 2 points. Dean should be very proud of himself as I know many others are not only did he finish all his races he picked up points and didn't get any damage, that's quite impressive for his first time out. Hopefully Dean will be out soon at another RookiRod meeting I have a feeling this young man has lots more to show us....
Well Done Dean
